OpenSearch Reindexing Guide

Manual reindexing for OpenSearch indices using the helper pod.

Access Helper Pod

# Switch to production context
kubectl config use-context arn:aws:eks:ap-southeast-1:202255947274:cluster/eks-prod-21

# List pods
kubectl get pods -n hungryhub

# Access helper pod shell (replace pod name)
kubectl exec -it hungryhub-helper-9f7bd57cd-9774h -n hungryhub -- /bin/sh

Reindex Commands

Run inside the pod shell:

⚠️ Important: Reindex restaurants before inventories to maintain data integrity.

# Reindex restaurants
bin/rake reindex_schema:restaurants

# Reindex inventories
bin/rake reindex_schema:inventories

# Reindex restaurant tags
bin/rake reindex_schema:restaurant_tags
