Maternity Leave Policy
Maternity Leave Entitlement
Paid Leave
Employees are entitled to 45 calendar days of fully paid maternity leave.
Unpaid Leave
After the paid leave period, employees may request up to an additional 45 calendar days of unpaid leave, for a maximum total maternity leave of 90 calendar days (3 months). Unpaid leave is subject to business operational needs and requires written approval from the employee’s manager and Saiqul.
Notice Requirement
Employees should notify their manager and Saiqul at least 30 days in advance of their expected leave start date, unless a medical emergency prevents notice, in which case notify immediately.
Process
-
Application:
Submit an email request for maternity leave to your manager and Saiqul, including the expected start and end dates.
-
Approval:
Saiqul will confirm eligibility and approve the leave in writing.
-
Extension:
For leave extensions beyond the initial 90 days, submit a written request at least 14 days before the current end date. Extensions are subject to approval based on operational needs.
-
Return to Work:
Employees should confirm their intended return date at least 2 weeks before the end of their leave. Failure to return without prior written approval may result in termination of employment.
Benefit Continuation
Health insurance coverage continues for the first 30 days of unpaid leave. For unpaid leave periods beyond 30 days, the employee is responsible for covering their own insurance premiums. Contact HR for details on premium payment procedures.
Additional Notes
Employees are encouraged to discuss any special circumstances or needs with Saiqul.
